Pat Ferguson wore many hats during her lifetime. Among them was the first female school board member of Metamora Grade School. After some time teaching high school math, Pat became the founder of a software development and consulting firm. Her leadership and drive to be on the cutting edge of technology while also fostering a love for learning was exactly why Pat’s daughters, Karen Ferguson Fuson and Janet Ferguson, looked to MGS’s Innovation Lab as a great way to keep giving back in memory of their mother, who passed away about one year ago.
Karen and Janet teamed up to provide the MGS Foundation $25,000 for the Innovation Lab!. Karen had the following to say about her mother: "Metamora Grade School was an important part of our lives. We are thankful for the tremendous education and grateful our mother had the opportunity to become the first woman on the MGS School Board." Janet added, "Mom was a trailblazer in so many ways and an extraordinary example of an incredible female leader giving back to her community. Truly a role model for us and so many others."
MGS is thankful to the Ferguson family for their involvement, investment and impact to the MGS community!
