#DonationsInAction Thanks to the generosity of our community, The Foundation for Educational Excellence provides dozens of mini-grants each fall to MGS teachers & staff.
It's nice to see where your donations are going so over the next few weeks we will share specific examples of how our students are benefiting.
This week: The incredible, FUN, and forward thinker Mrs. Borlin, 6th grade math teacher! Kerri used her mini-grant to create physical escape rooms for various units of study. Students have to answer math related questions and solve puzzles involving these answers that lead them to figuring out clues that allow them to find lock combinations to break into boxes. These activities require collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity. If you have a 6th grader you probably heard about these escape rooms first hand!
